ShogunAI: a personal AI assistant for Mac that remembers the context of your work
The new ShogunAI app runs on a Mac, remembers the context of your tasks, and helps you write replies, prepare for meetings, and translate without re-explaining everything.
What this app is
ShogunAI is a personal AI assistant installed on a Mac. Its main idea is that most AI tools force you to re-explain everything each time: who a person is, what you promised, where a conversation left off. ShogunAI gradually builds a picture of your work so you don't have to.
The developers also say the app keeps the sources behind what it knows, so you can see the evidence for any conclusion it reaches.
How it works in practice
The developers highlight writing and translation triggered with the Option key. According to them, this lets you quickly draft a reply to an email or prepare for a meeting without leaving your workflow.
If the app brings up an old decision, you can check it: ShogunAI lets you open the original source, such as the earlier thread. If an action would reach another person, the app waits for your approval before doing anything.
What's planned next
A Windows version is not available yet. You can join the waitlist at shogunai.si/windows. According to the developers, a mobile version is also in progress.
The team asks users to share which tasks they would want to hand to such an assistant and where they get stuck most often. This comes from the developers on the Product Hunt launch day, so treat it as their stated plans rather than independently verified results.
