Video of a Car Hanging from Electric Wires in India Was Created by AI

AFP fact-checkers found that a popular video showing a car suspended from electric cables in India is AI-generated, not a real event.

✨ What happened

A video allegedly showing a car suspended from electric cables in India has been circulating online. Such footage often sparks strong surprise and spreads quickly on social media.

Fact-checkers at the AFP news agency examined the clip and concluded that it was created by AI. In other words, it is not documentary footage of a real situation, but a computer-generated fabrication.

📌 Why it matters

Modern AI tools can create highly realistic videos that are hard to tell apart from genuine ones at first glance. So before sharing an unusual clip, it is worth checking who posted it and whether there is other confirmation of the event.

If a video evokes strong emotions or looks unbelievable, that is a reason to take a closer look. Trusted media and fact-checking organizations help clarify what actually happened.
